Access Controls

Access Control

Access controls control access according to policies set by the operator: "WHO-WHEN-WHERE". Magnetic Autocontrol is a pioneer in this branch and offers a variety of solutions for various uses. All Magnetic barriers are easy to install, easy to use and can easily be tied in to higher-level control systems.

The drive unit MHTM™ (servo technology), which is used in all products, is a technological milestone and functions maintenance-free, is energy-efficient and operates extremely quietly. The integrated control equipment can be used with all conventional access systems and makes standard bi-directional use possible.

MPS

The MPS product series was developed especially for access control situations with low security demands and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The housing, made from a high-quality polished V2A stainless steel tube, has a diameter of 159 mm. All components for operating the barrier are built-in, which minimises the installation time and allows the system to be put into operation quickly. The product can be equipped with various blocking elements, elegantly in glass, break-proof in acrylic or durable with a stainless steel bracket (optionally with an inlay). For use in escape routes we offer a version that has been tested by external parties.

• Energy-saving MHTM™ drive unit
• Variable barrier widths
• Suited for bicycles and wheelchairs
• Software for convenient parameterisation
• Free passage in the event of power failure
• Optional: Authorisation for emergency escape routes

MPP

The MPP product series is appropriate for accesses with low to middle security requirements, allowing one person through at a time. Depending on the model, the housing is made of high-quality polished V2A stainless steel (MPP 212 / 222) or of chromium steel (MPP 112 / 122). The barrier arms, likewise made of stainless steel, withstand even the highest stress loads – such as in the case of vandalism. Unauthorised attempts at access activate a brake which blocks the passage (adjustable). As an alternative, we offer patented Drop-Arm technology. With this technology, the barrier arm drops down in the case of a voltage drop (or feedback from a fire alarm system) and automatically raises itself again in the case of voltage recovery. The time-consuming need for a person to lock the arm into place is eliminated. Depending on the application, three different versions are available.

• Energy-saving MHTM™ drive unit
• Patented Drop-Arm security approval
• Software for convenient parameterisation
• Integration of access or payment control systems
• Free passage in the event of power failure
• Simple integration of identification media (MPP 122 / 222)

MPW

The MPW product line is ideal for closing off indoor passages that call for quick, contactless separation of persons. The barrier closes immediately after the person has passed through, or after a defined time has elapsed. The barrier can be operated single- or bi-directionally. The housing is made of high-quality polished stainless steel, and the flush doors are of acrylic or tempered safety glass. The parameterisation takes place via DIP switches on the control equipment. Light barriers in the passage reliably recognise persons and objects. In the event that contact takes place, the drive unit has a sensitive touch recognition sensor. The light barriers also reliably report persons attemping to follow, passage in the wrong direction or entrance without authorisation. How the barrier should react in these situations can be defined by the customer. A line consists of at least two modules.

• Energy-saving MHTM™ drive unit
• Slim design
• Standard width and wider passages
for e.g. prams and wheelchairs can be combined
• Free passage in the event of power failure

Immigration

ABC-Gate

The steady increase in international travel, paired with criminal and terrorist acts, are a cause of headaches for immigration and customs authorities worldwide. Magnetic is a pioneer in the field of developing and installing pedestrian security barriers to support border control. As early as 1996 the first Immigration Barriers were installed at international airports and have proven themselves over many years of use. Worldwide, more than 600 Barriers are now in daily use.

Our Barriers are distinguished both by reliable drive and control technology, and by attractive design – for the most part out of stainless steel and glass. Self-explanatory ergonomics and clear functionality are two further important factors for high passage rates. Security is here an absolute matter of course. Moreover, with the introduction of the MHTM™ drive concept, both the energy costs and the housing dimensions could be reduced significantly. A single Barrier can deal with up to 300 passengers per hour, depending on the testing method being applied. The development of Immigration Barriers takes place in close cooperation with customers, air- or seaport operators and the authorities.

We are glad to offer you additional accessories such as biometric recording devices, passport readers, smart card, RFID, bar code scanners, monitors, loudspeakers etc. You can profit from our decades of experience. Here's how we work:

The project is complex.
The solutions we develop are: ingenious.

Where production and supply intersect.

The project is complex. It's about an intersection in a production line in the automobile industry. The production line and an access road for delivering the production parts intersect. Just like everywhere in highly productive industrial sectors, production is clocked. It's a rhythm that may only be broken occasionally. Here at BMW in Dingolfing, Magnetic Autocontrol is supplying a system that opens the intersection alternately in both directions. Four barrier booms that can turn 90° block or open one direction at a time. At the same time they block the access in the other direction, and in step with the clocked production the access for delivering the production parts is cleared – and then blocked again. This ensures that no persons or vehicles use the access route and collide with the production line. In the clock breaks, the access is opened and persons or logistics vehicles can pass through. In doing so, the barriers also take the differing relative path widths of almost 2:1 into account and close off the respective area completely.

When bicycles cut across

In this case we're dealing with a chemical group with a multitude of personnel access routes on the extensive company premises. In principle the system should be easily solved with turnstiles and electronic controls – if it weren't for the bicycles which are allowed to be brought onto the premises. So Magnetic Autocontrol developed the MPB barrier. Induction loops in the ground recognise bicycles brought along by persons. An appropriate swing barrier opens for the bicycle, while the person uses the adjoining turnstile. Among the especially interesting parts of this project were the customer's specifications for the design and colour scheme, integrating the access control system into the company's operations, and the request for energy-saving LED lighting technology. The MPB barrier we used here was a completely new development, combined with the expertise gained from MPT and MPG. The basis was MHTM™ technology, which has already proven itself in thousands of barriers. MPB barriers consist of a turnstile and a half-height swing barrier. Depending on the model, the carrier beam houses the motor unit or the locking unit, as well as the control device. For the project described here, the centre column and swing barrier are made of high-quality stainless steel, as is the separating guide element. The supplementary components of the system are galvanized and powder-coated in the corporate colour. The roof trim also offers plenty of room for the corporate logo and barrier labelling.

Glass doors for Warsaw.

The new underground station Dworzec Wileński (Vilinius Station) in Warsaw is an impressive example of a modern underground station. All access systems at this train station come from Magnetic Autocontrol. A part of the advanced design for the fully automatic Fare Collection System is automatically opening glass panels instead of barriers. (In other stations, passengers often simply jumped over the turnstiles.) Magnetic Autocontrol developed a solution based on the system KPH 111/121, which was customised for the exact specifications of Vilinius Station. The systems were developed further, based on experience with the first Warsaw underground line. The result is new, intelligent applications for local public transport – two of them in fact: The standard system is the bi-directional access with a width of 600 mm, and new bi-directional barriers with a width of 900 mm for passengers in wheelchairs, with large luggage or with prams.
